Fire Hydrant Flushing
October 8-11, October 15-18
Ontario Clean Water Agency will be carrying out a fire hydrant flushing program in the Village of Tweed. In order to complete this program, the west side of the Village will be completed the first week and the east side of the village will be completed the second week. Hours of flushing will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The first week of flushing will commence on Tuesday October 8,

Cogeco Connexion has partnered with the Municipality of Tweed to assess the current broadband connectivity of homes and businesses within the area. Residents who wish to participate are asked to complete the speed test instructions at this link: https://internetspeed.celertech.ca/.

British Home Child Day
At their regular meeting held September 24, 2019 Council proclaimed September 28th 2019 as "British Home Child Day".
From 1869 up to 1948 over 100,000 children of all ages were emigrated right across Canada, from the UK to be used a indentured farm workers and domestics. You can read about the history of British Home Children in Canada here.

Level 2 Low Water Condition Issued for Moira, Napanee, and Salmon River Watersheds
Quinte Conservation and the Low Water Response Team have declared a Level 2 Low Water Condition in the Moira, Napanee, and Salmon River Watersheds due to lack of rainfall and low flows throughout the region. Prince Edward Region Watershed remains in a Level 1 Low Water Condition.
