Information Regarding Building Permits
As of Saturday April 4, 2020 the Provincial Government has ordered that no new building permits be issued for construction.
Residential construction projects can continue based on the following,
- a footing permit has been granted for single family, semi-detached and townhomes
- an above grade structural permit has been granted for condominiums, mixed use and other buildings, or
- the project involves renovations to residential properties and construction work was started before April 4, 2020.
If you wish to submit your plans and applications to the building department for new construction you may do so, but no permit will be issued at this time. The building department will continue to review applications to ease a back log in the system for when permits are able to be issued once again.
