The Municipality of Tweed would like to announce the release of the 2013 edition of the Recreation and Culture Guide. There have been 10,000 guides printed to help promote culture and recreational programs and events in the community. They have been made available throughout the community and surrounding area as well as posted online.
"We strongly believe that people are drawn to the Municipality of Tweed because of our vibrant communities," states Jo-Anne Albert, Mayor. "Our guide helps showcase what we have to offer as well as providing information to area residents on programing and events."
The 2ndannual publication was taken on by the economic development department (with help from the Community Development Committee) as a need identified within the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP). The guide is a 24 page publication filled with community information on youth sports and activities, outdoor recreation, Gateway Community Health Centre Programs, recreation and activities for adults, Erin Palmateer Community Pool programs and events, information on heritage, art, and music throughout the area, a facilities listing, festival and event schedules and a community calendar.
It is a representation of the cumulative efforts of the organizations, clubs, and businesses in the Municipality. For inclusion in the book people are asked to submit information annually to the Municipality by April 1st.
