On July 22, 2017, the Municipality of Tweed will host a Farm to Table Community Dinner to commemorate and celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary. Everyone is invited to come out and join in the celebration and to be a part of this once-in-a-generation chance to celebrate our community, our agriculture, and our heritage. The Farm to Table Community Dinner is a culinary event celebrating and promoting agri-tourism and “foodie” tourism in the Municipality of Tweed and Eastern Ontario. Metcalf Street will be closed and transformed into a farm to fork foodie experience where tables and chairs will be arranged with place settings and decorations befitting a such a huge feast. We envision a thousand people converging on Metcalf Street where music is playing, chefs are at cooking stations creating culinary dishes featuring our local farmer’s products, people are mingling and reminiscing of past times and sharing stories and children are anxiously waiting for dinner to be served. This event is an epitome of what a community can do, celebrating the best of the area, our farmers and volunteers. While the event is a celebration of Canada’s 150th, it will also be an opportunity for our youth to learn and experience all that the Municipality of Tweed has to offer as well as a time for the older generation to share their stories and experiences.
Tickets can be purchased at the Moira River Food Company, Municipality of Tweed or online https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/farm-to-table-ontario-150-tickets-35016756060 ,
