Burn Ban Lifted

As of August 10, 2018, Fire Chief Derrick Little has lifted the burn ban in the Municipality of Tweed and the Township of Stirling-Rawdon.  Fire conditions continue to be very high.  When fire danger is very high, fires will start easily from most causes.  Small fires can quickly become large fires and spread rapidly.  Use extreme caution when burning.  We continue to experience low-level water conditions which could cause difficulty for the fire department if a fire should start.    The Fire Department must be notified by calling 613-391-8857 before open air burning on farms begins and ends.  A reminder there is zero tolerance for burning garbage and fines will be levied.  Anyone who is burning MUST have a burn permit and abide to all the terms and conditions of the permit and Burn By-law 2016-17.
