2014 Municipal Elections Voting Day is October 27, 2014

2014 is a municipal election year. All municipalities in Ontario will be holding elections for local Council positions. The Municipality of Tweed will hold a municipal election for the following: Mayor; Deputy Mayor; Councillors (3); and School Board Trustees for EP, ES, FP and FS.

The Nomination Period for the 2014 municipal election began on January 2nd. Any person who is a qualified elector is eligible to be a candidate in the municipal election. Candidates must file a Nomination Form in the office of the Clerk, and pay the applicable Nomination Fee, before declaring their candidacy and campaigning for office.

Nomination forms are available at the municipal office, on the municipal website and on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs website at www.mah.gov.on.ca . The Ministry has prepared a Candidate's Guide which is also available online or from the Municipality.
