New Business
The
Municipality of Tweed is an excellent place to open business. We are
proud to present the following new business to our municipality:
Business Opening - Express Electronics
Express Electonics officiallyopens its doors to the public on Thursday December 1, 2011. The new store will carrya wide variety of electronics, computer accessories,a full line Bell authorized retailer, and takes passport photos. Jamie
DeMarsh is an active member of the Tweed community (Kiwanis Club,
Recreation Committee, and Chamber of Commerce) who has been raising a
family and operating Cash Express in Tweed for twelve years. Over the
years Jamie has paid attention to his customer’s wants and needs and has
tried to accommodate. The new store and business is designed around what his regular customers and tourists want and need. Jamie is able to compete with big box store prices through the purchasing power of a large buying group to which he is affiliated.

There is now a separate sit-down, full service dining room for adults, with a new wine list and a supper and dessert special.Open
Wednesday nights for Wing Night at 5pm, and by reservations Thursdays
at 5pm, Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays at 5pm, or for private parties.Call
613-478-2710 to book your table in the dining room from Wednesdays to
Saturdays, or to book a private party anytime during the week.
The Tweedsmuir Tavern and Latina’s restaurant are owned and operated by local residents.Latina’s is a hot spot for pizza and other specialty dishes while the Tweedsmuir has been a popular hangout for generations.The
expansion of a new sit down full service dining room will be a welcome
addition to the busy building located in the heart of downtown tweed!

Business Re-Open - Laundromat
For
those municipal residents, cottagers, and the numerous people from out
of town that have expressed concern over the laundromat. You can thank
Steve Labarge for buying and resurrecting the former Magic Suds. Opening
date and details are not yet available.
Business Opening - Murphy's Bistro
Murphy's
Bistro opened it's doors to the public this week. Owner and operator
Terri Murphy says "Its just a soft opening for now, there is still lots
to do but we are now open to allow people to come in and try us out.'
Once more established the restaurant will have a grand opening. The
pub/restaurant features a variety of local foods in a calm and relaxing
environment. Murphy's Bistro will add to the wide variety of take-out or
dine in restaurants along Victoria Street (West SIde, 300 block) in the
Village of Tweed. A great place to come for choice and a selection!
