By-Law Enforcement
The By-Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing many of the municipality’s by-laws. Copies of municipal by-laws are available from the municipal office or by contacting the By-Law Enforcement Officer. Council generally passes from 30 to 50 by-laws in any year. Many of these by-laws pertain to specific properties, such as zoning amendment by-laws. Some of the by-laws which are passed apply to all properties and residents in the Municipality and pertain to such matters as traffic and parking; noise; property standards; animal control; special events; fees and charges; building and construction; signs.
Following is a list of Municipality of Tweed By-Laws which apply to all residents and property owners in the municipality. By-Law No. 2005-51 By-law for provisions for billing and collecting of water and sewer charges.
By-Law No. 2005-39 By-law for the issuance of construction permits and permit fees.
By-Law No. 2004-14 By-law to regulate operation of ATV’s on municipal roads.
By-Law No. 2003-08 By-law to regulate traffic and parking.
By-Law No. 2003-09 By-law to provide for regulating of cats.
By-Law No. 2003-23 By-law to regulate selling of goods at yard sales.
By-Law No. 2002-29 By-law to prohibit drainage of roof water and surface drainage into sanitary sewers.
